Jason Ramos is the founder of Baila Con Gusto CT. He is of Ecuadoroan descent, and was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Over the past decade, Jason has taught and performed across CT. He has a passion for teaching beginners and sharing the cultural and historical context of the dances he teaches. Partner dancing can be an intimidating experience, and he prides himself in making it a fun and welcoming activity for people of all ages and backgrounds. One of his mottos is, la vida es mas bella bailando, entonces Baila Con Gusto!

Level 1 classes require no prior experience and no partner. Very beginner friendly. Commitment to the entire 6 week program is highly recommended for the best learning experience.

Level 2 classes are for people with prior experience, or currently developing beyond their basic steps. Focus will be on more intricate footwork, Musicality, multi figure and directional combinations, and body movement.

Bachata is a fun and popular style that is danced to a rhythmic caribbean Blues music by the same name. This Dominican style of music is composed of bongos, guitar, bass, güira and sentiment filled vocals.

The music is found across the globe and is a fun gateway dance to latin partner dancing. The dance may be romantic, passionate, silly, elegant, calm and all in between.

It is a dance style focused on hip movement ,often combined with repeating linear steps and decorative figures.

Salsa on1, often referred to as LA Style Salsa, is very popular in the northeast USA, WESTERN USA, South America and across the globe. It combines intricate jazzy footwork, turns, Spins, and multiple direction changes in a line style structure.

This energetic music is derived from afro cuban rhythms, and later combined with classical and jazz elements from across Europe and the USA. Eventually Puerto Rican people living in NYC in the early 1900s developed this alongside Cuban musicians, to bring it to a commercial success called Salsa.
