This summer, Ars Nova Workshop and The Woodlands present Spiritual Atmosferic Cleansing, a recurring “rhythmic release” featuring percussion, song, storytelling, and more. Led by Philadelphia percussionist Karen Smith, Spiritual Atmosferic Cleansing is an informal gathering that seeks to provide a space for us to get in tune with ourselves and others.

Karen Smith
Karen “Magic Fingaz” Smith is a percussionist, playwright, director, producer, poet, and leader of two musical groups: Weez The Peeple and Sistahs Laying Down Hands With Love. Karen makes it a part of her daily mantra to stay creative by utilizing all the components of her artistry.
As Karen always says, “the Arts are healing resources for all and everyone is welcome to get some of this medicine.”
The Woodlands
The Woodlands’ 54-acre undulating landscape is at once an 18th-century English pleasure garden, an active 19th-century rural cemetery, and a modern-day green oasis for the communities of West Philadelphia. Please note before planning your visit:

- Please bring your own lawn chair or blanket for outdoor seating.
