Periodontal health is more than just healthy gums—it’s a window into overall systemic health. This session, Periodontal Manifestations of Systemic Disease, will explore the critical connections between oral and systemic conditions, equipping dental professionals with the knowledge to better identify, diagnose, and manage patients with complex health profiles.
You’ll learn how systemic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, autoimmune disorders, and others present clinically in the periodontium. The course will review current evidence linking periodontal inflammation with systemic health outcomes, and highlight the role dental professionals play in early detection and referral.
Key Learning Objectives
- Understand the biological mechanisms connecting systemic disease and periodontal health
- Recognize oral signs and symptoms that may indicate underlying systemic conditions
- Apply practical strategies to improve patient care through collaborative management
- Stay up to date with current research and clinical guidelines on oral–systemic health links
This engaging session is designed for dentists, hygienists, and the entire dental team who want to elevate patient care by integrating oral health with whole-body wellness.
