The nights are getting colder but it's heating up inside the MuseumDue to COVID restrictions, Mingle at the Museum: Spring Fling had to be postponed until it was safe for Cupid to return to the office. We are pleased to finally announce a new date: Monday 23 May. If you're already a ticket holder, your existing ticket will remain valid for the new date.
Special Guest
A bonus of our new Mingles dates is that you'll be able to get up close to one of the rarest, most complete T. rex skeletons in the world. This very rare guest is one of only four black T. rex skeletons ever found. He'll be keeping a careful watch over the evening's proceedings, and in his honour, our Mingles has a new theme - the Birds and the Beasts. It's going to be wild.
New faces, new places.
There’s no cooler place to meet someone special than the Museum, especially with our latest additions. Start the evening with drinks and nibbles at Tuitui, our new bar and bistro in Te Ao Mārama, the Museum’s stunningly refurbished South Atrium. One of Auckland’s top DJs, Jarom Hall will be spinning the decks and our legendary team of "icebreakers" will be working the room, getting the conversation flowing, along with the bubbles.
Doctor, doctor, give me the news.
Incurably romantic? Consult with our resident Love Doctor, then, take your prescription to the apothecary for an aphrodisiac delight or, more likely, some tall tales.
Hit it off with someone?
If things are looking promising, take it to the next stage with a stroll through our beautifully lit galleries. There’ll be plenty to chat about on our romantically-themed scavenger hunt and your ticket gives you unlimited access to the Museum after hours.
Fancy a bit on the side?
There'll be plenty going on throughout the evening, like our fun, speed-dating game over in the Museum’s Kai Room, rebranded as ‘The Birds and the Beasts Room’, on the far side of the South Atrium. Our hosts will pair you up and you'll have 5 minutes to get to know each other - with fun challenges to complete while you chat.
And yes, our Blind Date game is back! Register to be a contestant when you purchase your ticket and we’ll be in touch with more details closer to the time - remember, you can always opt out. This time we’ll be including audience participation for spot prizes, so everyone can be a winner, baby.
