In celebration of the 101st anniversary of the founding of the League of Women Voters and of the 19th Amendment, the Leagues of Women Voters in San Mateo County present a celebration and panel discussion about the impact of expanding voting rights in the United States.
On Sunday, August 29, 2021 the LWV of North & Central San Mateo County and the LWV of South San Mateo County present a panel of speakers who will provide insights into the history of the impact of women’s voting rights on U.S. issues and politics, how the expanding enfranchisement affected politics in the U.S., and what is the biggest challenge to voter participation in the future and what we can expect from that.
Speakers: Alice Smith, Exec Dir, National Voters Corps; Carol Moon Goldberg, President, LWV California; Shay Franco-Clausen, West Coast Region Program Dir, IGNITE Political Power in Every Young Woman.
Refreshments will be served.
