Every lesson will take a subject to explore, learn, and play with. We will see how through movement Body and Mind connect into one entity that moves and being moved.
Dance Improvisation’s main aspect is about awareness to one’s body, mind, emotion and motion, movement in space and with partners – we will learn how to expand our awareness more and more, breaking our patterns and going beyond them.
ABILITIES YOU WILL LEARN IN THE COURSE:
* – A better understanding of your body potential movement.
* – Creating instant composition with a group of dancers.
* – Increasing the “Body’s Intelligent” for information.
* – Understanding Body’s language of yourself and other dancers.
* – Changing and evolving your movement patterns.
* – And above all the joy of DANCING.
In this course we will be covering these subjects among others:
BODY LANGUAGE - finding and expanding your body language.
SOLO – my own inner dance, and how I perform it.
DUET– sharing the dance, how to create a duet & how to invite.
TRIO– the power of 3, when two supports one.
ENSEMBLE WORK – the true essence of a group, agreeing to disagree.
PERFORMING SKILLS - correct use of space and time.
Every lesson is a unit, a building block that will help you to expand your abilities in dance improvisation. it is more beneficial to have a continuation of classes, however you can take individual lessons.
I encourage you to experience as many dance fields and views as possible.
Like any other language learning your body language and how to truly become a Dance Improviser takes time, practice and persistence. The upside is that it is a pleasure to explore this field.
WHEN?
The classes take place every week on Monday - 20:15- 22:15.
(Starting at 9thth of January till End of June).
WHERE?
The beautiful studio of the mirror centre -Odessa Muiderpoort – Ter Gouwstraat 3, 1093 JX Amsterdam, Netherlands.
– Full course of 25 classes – € 350
(7 euro per hour lesson).
(If you join for the full Contact course as well 18:00-20:00 – it will be 600 Euro for both courses)
– 5 class Strippencard – €90
– Single class (try out) – €20

WHAT IS DANCE IMPROVISATION?
Dance improvisation is a complete and full world of exploration of the body, and your creativity in dance. It allows us to go into the body, talk and express ourselves in a non-verbal way and find new ways to relate to other people, to our inner wishes and also to time, space and movement on stage.
It can be enjoyed by anyone who wishes to find the dancer within. In its highest level, Dance Improvisation is a delicate art form, a meditation, a joy and a beautiful way to explore your true self and share it with other people on stage and beyond.
Improvisation is the way we learn about the world. Before we had patterns of movement and behavior we were playing with all possibilities and finding our own way in the world. In dance improvisation we try to keep our sensitivity open to new experience and not to be locked in our usual movement and patterns. We try to break patterns of behavior and expand beyond them.
Dance Improvisation is a wonderful way to make your consciousness bigger to the surrounding and to grow your understanding of your own body and mind. Improvisation in its highest form is pure awareness – to dance, to your own self, to others and to everything that is happening.
