It’s simple. The conversion of energy, one form to another. With fire I change mud into an object of visual pleasure. The process of raku firing can be exhilarating, dangerous and unpredictable. Like people, pots each react differently when exposed to extreme conditions. They become stronger. Or they can crack, explode or fall apart completely.
