New Bounce Collective, at its core, is a 4 piece band with each of its members hailing from different states across the US. Meeting at Berklee College of Music with different backgrounds, the quartet improvises and works seamlessly to create an eclectic experience primarily mixing hip-hop, jazz, and R&B.

Blaxian

Known for his r&b/soul, indie, pop style that has continuously alternated between heart-centered and care-free lyrical elements, Blaxian (“Blay•Shin”) is a singer, songwriter, producer, DJ, and creative director. Growing up in Uptown, Washington, D.C. with both African American and Filipino cultural backgrounds, he learned how to play piano, drums, and bass guitar with the guidance and teachings of his musically inclined family tree. With r&b/soul music being a heavy influence for him, Blaxian was also raised in church alongside his father, introducing Gospel music into his musical world. In particular, his father is an immense influence on his musical career due to his own multi-talented abilities within the musical world as well. During his high school days, he showed an interest in joining the choir, inspiring him to seriously pursue his music career. Jumpstarting his musical journey as a producer, his love for music sparked an evolution. Blaxian started much of his self-taught musical career at 14 years old and is committed to growing and evolving within his lifelong passion and only life purpose — music.

Jru Anthony is a singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist from Washington, D.C. whose music is a zap to the future as well as a sultry seat in the past. He communicates the art of music in each performance while showcasing the chops he worked hard to obtain. A new direction is upon him. Be one of the first to experience Jru’s Universe.
