NEW BLACK CITY

The American King Foundation is set to host the first holiday fundraiser of 2021, an immersive dinner theater experience titled, "New Black City". The play is a spoof on the urban cult movie, "New Jack City" that features AKF founder Angela Stanton-King and a host of celebrities tackling community issues through theater and asking the question, "Am I my brother's keeper?" The unique experience is scheduled for Saturday, November 27th at 7PM at The Vault located at 75 John Wesley Dobbs NE, Atlanta, GA 30303.

The "New Black City" VIP dinner and immersive experience will focus on Black Leadership and the possibility of creating a new Black City. The play stars NBA #1 draft pick Kwame Brown, Judge Joe Brown, Deb Antney, Stevie J, Mercedes Smith, AKF founder Angela Stanton-King and many more.

As a special treat, former NBA star Brown will surprise guests by putting on his chef hat and preparing a 5 star meal for select guests. "This is a community effort with leaders from various areas in our community who want to finish 2021 empowering our people. Yes it's a fundraiser for the American King Foundation, but more importantly it's an opportunity for families to get dressed up come out and enjoy an entertaining and educational evening. It's an opportunity for needed conversation while enjoying good food for the cause of uplifting our community. Today's headlines speak to the importance of us being proactive in educating and protecting our community."

Stanton-King says she is overwhelmed by the support she's received from the influential cast members and their belief in the mission of the American King Foundation. "I'm so thankful for everyone that's a part of this cast. Kwame has been so instrumental in this production. Not only is he the lead role in the film, but he's showing off one of his many talents in the kitchen. Judge Joe Brown is hilarious in this play, people are going to enjoy seeing another side of him. It's definitely going to be an evening to remember," Stanton-King says.

American King Foundation presents New Black City is scheduled for Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 7PM at The Vault located at 75 John Wesley Dobbs NE, Atlanta, GA 30303.
