Never Souled Out (Always Funked Up) was born during Red D’s DJ course when talking about the origins of hip hop. A New York melting pot of soul, funk, latin and disco grooves was how it all started in the hands of visionary DJ’s like Kool Herc and Afrika Bambaataa. One of Red D’s students is Spies - a young DJ who’s been making some waves with his soulful (house) music vibes in recent years – and he was asking if there are any parties where this music is being played? The answer was…erm…not really.
So here we are. Come and get down to all things soulful, old AND new. Because good music never stops.
