MAR 28
Saturday • March 28, 10 AM – 5 PM
Main Gallery — Liggett Studio
$125 • All supplies included
You do NOT have to be an artist to create.
Spend a full day learning the NeuroLines process through repetitive mark-making. The movement starts fast and naturally shifts into slower, smaller lines as your hand and attention fall into rhythm.
This is the process I’ve used for over 40 years. It works like the “Wax On / Wax Off” moment from The Karate Kid, simple motions that settle into your hands and eventually take over. Once the movement clicks, time passes quickly, and your focus holds steady on what you’re creating.
What You’ll Do
• Work on a medium board with a watercolor background prepared for you
• Apply watercolor to your smaller paper before lunch and let it dry during the potluck
• After lunch, continue at your own pace and develop your personal line flow
• Use a set of three black mark-making pens with three different tip sizes
• Bring any colored mark-making tools you’d like
• Use stencils, rulers, extra boards, and paper will be available
• End the day with a quiet hour of slow, intentional line-work
• Stay later if you’d like during cleanup
What to Expect
You do NOT need to be an artist.
You do NOT need to know how to draw.

About the Artist
Nichole Montgomery is a Tulsa-based multi-mixed media storyteller and neuro line artist, known for intricate, emotionally layered works that blend personal history, symbolism, and intuitive mark-making. Originally from the Mount Hood wilderness of Estacada, Oregon, Nichole began creating neuro-based linework at age six during her first experience with childhood trauma. What began as a quiet survival instinct grew into a lifelong visual language—one that continues to ground her as she approaches 50.
Her work combines photography, digital elements, collage, assemblage, and obsessive ink lines—each piece unfolding like a visual narrative. Over time, her once-sharp lines have softened, reflecting a steady movement toward inner balance and healing.
A U.S. Army veteran who served in the late ’90s, Nichole creates from lived experience shaped by challenge, transition, and endurance. In 2023, she was named one of the inaugural Oklahoma Visionary Artists by Steve Liggett and Pam Hodges through Liggett Studio, where she now maintains a private studio space and is a proud member of the Liggett Mighty Crew—a collective of Tulsa-based creatives and volunteers committed to pushing the boundaries of contemporary art.
In her workshops, Nichole offers more than instruction. She offers presence, rhythm, and a space for creative exploration—free from pressure and structure, and rich in personal meaning.
