Neurocircle - Supporting Communication and Relationships
About this Event
Neurocircle is a support group for family, friends and carers of Neurodivergent individuals, both adults and children. Sessions consist of guest speakers, advice and support drop-ins and a warm and friendly environment for a cup of tea and a chat.

🌿 Neurocircle
Our open drop-in discussion session provides a safe and inclusive space to share experiences, ask questions, and connect with others who understand the unique joys and challenges of supporting neurodiverse loved ones.
What to Expect
In this Neurocircle session, participants will explore how to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with neurodivergent people.
The discussion will focus on understanding
Communication styles -Direct vs indirect communication - Verbal vs Non Verbal differences
Metaphors and Jargon
Recognising individual needs and preferences
Identifying Barriers e.g. Sensory, Trust, Anxiety
Masking
Boundaries of relationships
Participants can share ideas and practical strategies to strengthen active listening, reduce misunderstandings, and foster meaningful connections.
The session will promote empathy, acceptance, and strengths-based support, helping attendees create environments where neurodivergent individuals feel valued, understood, and empowered.
- A relaxed, judgment-free environment where everyone’s voice is valued
- Facilitated by experienced Autism support practitioners
- Opportunities to share personal experiences or simply listen
- Peer support, encouragement, and understanding from others in similar roles
- Exchange of practical tips, resources, and coping strategies
- Guided conversation prompts to help spark meaningful conversation
Who Can AttendThese sessions are open to anyone who supports a neurodiverse person, diagnosed or self-identified.—whether you’re a parent, sibling, partner, extended family member, or caregiver. No prior registration with Swindon and Gloucestershire Mind is required; simply drop in when you can.
Our AimNeurocircle’s goal is to build a supportive community where caregivers and loved ones can find connection, reduce isolation, and strengthen their ability to provide care while also caring for themselves.
