Join us for this 2-day training to understand how stress and trauma affect the brain and behavior. Participants will learn how difficult experiences can make it harder for people to process information and make choices. These practical tools are designed for frontline advocates.
Learning objectives:

  • Interpret behavior through a threat response and regulation state rather than moral judgement or shame
  • Recognize how toxic stress and trauma narrows bandwidth and reduces access to reflection and choice
  • Apply plain language and repeatable tools to lower avoidable threat and restore regulation
  • Design environments and interactions anchored in safety, trust and transparency
  • Build coherent care by increasing comprehensibility, manageability and meaningfulness

At the end of the training you can choose to receive certification from the AZ Trauma Institute as a Trauma Support specialist at an additional fee.
