About this Event

Join us in person at Harris Manchester College for this student-led collaborative brainstorming workshop. Attendees, including campus administration, trustees, students, and international sustainability experts, will actively shape Harris Manchester College's sustainability path by co-creating actionable recommendations to achieve net-zero across scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. Registration is open towards anyone passionate about net-zero, and wanting to contribute towards helping achieve it.

Whether you’re a student, staff member, or simply passionate about sustainability, you’re invited to take part in shaping the College’s sustainability strategy and helping build a greener future. Registration is open to all who want to contribute to our collective journey toward net-zero.


Keynote Speakers

Robin Nuttall
Partner at McKinsey & Company and global leader in ESG and sustainability strategy.

Richard Morin
Bursar at Wolfson College, overseeing investments and College finances, and a driving force behind Wolfson’s achievement as the first Net Zero higher education institution in the UK.

Beth Breeze
Principal of Harris Manchester College, Oxford, and award-winning expert on philanthropy and fundraising


Our Goals

  • Accelerate HMC's net-zero journey through hands-on collaboration
  • Generate 20+ practical recommendations for immediate impact
  • Demonstrate institutional commitment to sustainability
  • Encourage other colleges towards net-zero practices

Focus: Heating; cooling; power infrastructure; renewable energy; building retrofit and insulation potential

GROUP B: Food & Operations

Focus: Catering/food procurement; waste management; supply chain sustainability

GROUP C: Student Engagement

Focus: Travel and commuting emissions; sustainability education; building college-wide culture

GROUP D: Measurement & Long-Term Plan

Focus: Carbon accounting; nature-based solutions; research partnerships; financing mechanisms
