Welcome to Neptune Challenge 2027
Neptune Challenge is an open water endurance swimming event unlike any other.
Set in the sheltered waters of Amager Strandpark in Copenhagen, swimmers from Denmark and around the world come together for a unique weekend built around endurance, community, personal challenge, and a shared love of the water.
The concept is simple. Every hour, participants start a new 1,500-metre swim. The time spent swimming counts towards the challenge, while the remaining time before the next start can be used to rest, recover, eat, sleep, reflect, and prepare for what comes next.
Participants can choose between challenges lasting 6, 12, 24, 30, or 42 hours, creating opportunities for both first-time endurance swimmers and experienced ultra-distance athletes.
But Neptune Challenge is about far more than distance.
It is about discovering what happens when people willingly step outside their comfort zone. It is about perseverance during the night, sharing stories between swims, supporting fellow participants, and experiencing the unique atmosphere that develops when a community spends hours and days together around a common challenge.
Every participant follows their own journey. Some come to test their limits. Others come to explore them. All become part of a community that celebrates determination, resilience, and respect for the water.
Whether you are joining us for your first endurance event or returning for another adventure, we look forward to welcoming you to Copenhagen and the Neptune Challenge community.
