Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider Curriculum
Stanford Children's Health Employees: For employment verification, please register using your stanfordchildrens.org work email and SCH employee ID number.

The NRP Provider Course introduces the concepts and basic skills of neonatal resuscitation. It is designed for health care professionals involved in any aspect of neonatal resuscitation, including physicians, nurses, advanced practice nurses, nurse midwi​​ves, licensed midwives, respiratory care practitioners, and other health are professionals who provide direct care during neonatal resuscitation.

Completion of the program does not imply that an individual has the competence to perform neonatal resuscitation. Each hospital is responsible for determining the level of competence and qualifications required for someone to assume clinical responsibility for neonatal resuscitation.

PROVIDER INFORMATION

Steps to achieving provider status are listed below:

1. Register for a class date (Part 2: Instructor-led/Hands-on portion).

2. Complete Part 1: Pre-work/Online portion.

  • Stanford Children's Health (SCH) Employees must complete Part 1 through . Registrants will receive an email from the Center for Professional Excellence and Inquiry (CPEI) with detailed instructions on how to complete Part 1.
  • SCH Travel Nurses, Stanford Healthcare, Stanford University employees and external registrants must complete Part 1 through .

3. Part 1 MUST BE COMPLETED prior to attending the hands-on portion of the course.

4. Print your Part 1 certificate of completion and hand it to your NRP Instructor when you attend Part 2.

5. You must take Part 2 within 30 days of completing Part 1. Any expired online tests will be voided.



REGISTRATION and FEES
  • : Eligible for a one-time waived tuition cost for the NRP Provider Initial and Renewal Course (every 2 years) = FREE (includes Part 1 and 2)
  • Other Stanford Children's Health Employees: Clinical nurses and staff from other departments, and exempt employees e.g., managers and assistant managers) = $200 (fee includes Part 1 and 2)
  • SCH Travel Nurses / Stanford Health Care / Stanford University Employees = $200 (fee is for Part 2 only)
  • General Admission = $200 (fee is for Part 2 only)

Please be advised that the Center for Professional Excellence and Inquiry (CPE&I) accepts card payments ONLY for course fees and materials. For educational reimbursement, eligible employees need to secure prior approval from their managers through AccessHR. CONTINUING EDUCATION
  • To receive CE Credit for the examination, you must enter your discipline and license information into the system. This must be done prior to completing the exam.
  • CE credits will be provided by the .


LATEX SENSITIVITY or ALLERGY

Our training facilities currently utilize many items that contain natural rubber latex. If you have a known latex sensitivity or allergy, please notify us and your direct supervisor so that appropriate accommodations can be considered.



COVID-19 ACCOMMODATION PROCESS

The Center for Professional Excellence and Inquiry (CPEI) at Stanford Children’s Health is closely monitoring the COVID-19 developments. Our highest priority and commitment is to protect the health and safety of our staff, class participants, and facilitators so we can continue to serve our patients and the community.

To meet the current guidelines of the organization and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention to make our classes as safe as we can, we are implementing the following actions effective immediately:

  • All participants will be screened for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 regardless of vaccination status and must complete the SCH Self Health Reporting attestation upon entry.
  • Masks must be worn at all times, social distance must be maintained, and no food is allowed.


WAITLIST

If the class date you would like to attend is already full, please email [email protected] to be added on the waitlist. Note that being on the waitlist does not guarantee enrollment to the course but it certainly increases your chances when an opening becomes available. Our waitlist is maintained on a first-come, first-served basis.



CANCELLATION and REFUND
  • Cancellation at least 2 weeks (10 business days) prior to course date will be provided full refund (Part 2 only)
  • Cancellation less than 2 weeks (10 business days) prior to course date will be refunded minus processing fee of $35 and cost of any course materials
  • NO REFUND will be offered for cancellation less than 5 business days prior and for no show or cancellation on the day of the class
  • NO REFUND will be offered if your Part 2 skills is not completed within the 90-day period
  • Email [email protected] to request cancellation and refund.
  • Cancellation by CPEI: Schedules, venues and details are subject to change and cancellation. Registered participants will be provided with as much advance notice as possible if this should occur. If CPEI cancels class, full refund will be given.
