Hailing from beautiful Denver, CO, the alternative folk group The Simple Parade creates music that will challenge the head and tug on the heart. Led by singer/songwriter Justin Hooper, the project speaks to the rawest parts kept hidden with their feel-good, acoustic-driven tunes.
The Simple Parade sings about the highs and lows of love, doubt and faith with a genuine and emotional feel. Hoopers seasoned vocals paired with the beautiful harmonies of his wife Kayla and the accompaniment of a very talented backing band (Kevin Ostrom and Ryan Jacob on Electric, Josh Anamier on Bass, Jon Grimsley on Drums, Nathan Blacka on Violin) make for a layered, energetic feel, akin to musical influences such as Simon & Garfunkel, Chris Stapleton and The Civil Wars.
Their debut single, “Confetti” (2014) earned them the New Times Music Award, while their first full album “A Love Story” (2016) earned them several awards, including the Great American Songwriting Award for “Heartstrings” and the Akademia Award for Best Americana Song for “Go With You”. Most recently, their single "Going Through Something", off of their latest album "Seeker" (2020), won the first Bluebird Golden Pick Contest, as well as a top spot in the USA Songwriting Competition, landing them a showcase at SXSW.
With an impressive set of achievements and a humble disposition, they continue to spread their word throughout the Rocky Mountains and beyond, encouraging everyone to tell their stories, ask big questions, and to love beyond themselves. Have you joined The Simple Parade?
