America's #1 Neil Diamond tribute act is making his way to Waco TX from Las Vegas NV.
Just recently Garrett made his debut at the Palace Arts Theater in Grapevine and quickly sold out TWO shows in one evening.
Long and widely regarding as one of the best tribute acts in the entire industry Garrett has received just about every award and accolade a tribute performer could receive as a talent who will actually make you forget that you're not watching the real deal.
Sam Novak of ‘Vegas411’ wrote:
“Diamond’s most renowned impersonator Rob Garrett is much more than just an impersonator... with over forty years of onstage experience the singer is himself a top draw.”
Like his iconic alter ego Garrett was born in Brooklyn NY although raised in Queens.
In 1974 his parents relocated the family to Las Vegas where Garrett’s music career eventually took shape.
Garrett is widely considered the #1 Neil Diamond tribute artist and is known worldwide as the 'King of Diamonds”. He has been performing in Las Vegas for over 4 decades and has received numerous accolades & awards including 'Male Musical Tribute Artist of the Year.
From 1980 to 1995 Rob fronted his own popular local Vegas band “Rock n Roll Heaven”.
In 1995 Paul Revere of the legendary 1960’s “Raiders” musical group personally auditioned and hired Rob to perform in Legends in Concert in Honolulu. What was a three-month trial became indefinite.
In 1998 he returned to Las Vegas and continued to perform intermittently with "Legends" for two more years. Since then he has kept up a steady tour around America and occasionally abroad.
He has headlined at more venues in Las Vegas throughout the last 27 years than any other tribute artist or act.
Rob first experienced Neil Diamond's “electrifying” show as a youngster at the opening of the Theater for the Performing Arts (now Zappos Theater) at the Aladdin Hotel and Casino during the country’s bicentennial in July of 1976.
He went on to see him yet another 16 times including his final concert in the US before the iconic singer/songwriter announced his retirement in 2018 after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease just short of his 78th birthday.
Since Diamond’s retirement Garrett has become the forerunner when it comes to tribute acts.
“It broke my heart when I heard he was retiring. I used to always look forward to his next concert tour. I saw him 17 times and I was expecting to see him another 17.
It’s different for me now performing my tribute. It’s now become an obligation - although a good obligation that I welcome with each performance.
To me it's something that I never get tired of doing and I have every intention of continuing to keep his legacy alive” says Garrett.
“He’s an American treasure and there's a lot of people that never had the opportunity to see him perform."
The “Pretty Amazing Band” includes Steve Gerard Borzage (keyboards) Marino Strathakis (guitar/vocals) (Rebecca Pena percussion/vocals).
