βMetro-Detroit Muslim Community Conversations:
Mental Health, Civic Engagement, and The Written Wordβ
Weβre proud to announce a seven-event community event series co-led by the Islamic Center of Detroit, the Center for Arab American Studies (CAAS) at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, and the University of Michigan School of Social Work-ENGAGE.
This is a multi-part gathering designed to explore healing, identity, faith, and community through mental health dialogue, neighborhood-based development, and creative expression. This series brings together community leaders, clinicians, scholars, artists, and organizers to share knowledge and create space for reflection and connection.
Across workshops and conversations, we invite participants to engage deeply with questions of intergenerational healing, faith-based care, community development, and storytelling as a tool for self and collective transformation.
We hope that each session strengthens relationships between community members and leaders, faculty and students, and fosters empathy and collaboration across diverse backgrounds.
