Neighborhood Day in the Heights

Explore the serene grounds, located near the border of Hamilton Heights and Washington Heights, which are the final resting place of many well-known New Yorkers — politicians, artists, architects, musicians, and more.

Tour notable gravesites, then stop and smell the (centuries-old) roses: The cemetery is the flagship site of New York City’s Heritage Rose District. Rosarian Chris Gordon, of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, will share insights about the unique varieties, many of which are no longer commercially available or nearly extinct.

Plus, enjoy a rose propagation workshop, light bites, and jazz from JAZZ HOUSE KiDS as you get to know the community.
