When disagreements arise, some people avoid the confrontation, while others choose to accommodate, compete, or collaborate. While each of these approaches has its strengths, over-reliance on a single style frequently leads to misunderstandings or even more conflict and limits potential outcomes.
Consequently, people often miss out on opportunities for constructive dialogue and stronger professional or personal relationships. Understanding your conflict style (how you naturally respond to disagreements) helps you adapt from an autopilot reaction to an improved strategic approach to conflict management and negotiation. It allows you to manage your emotions, helps you read the other party's behavior, and choose the best strategy.
In this workshop, we will examine various conflict styles and their role in conflict management, communication, and negotiation as well as their respective strengths and weaknesses, and the effects they have on communication, negotiation processes, and overall outcomes. Through an interactive negotiation simulation, participants will experience these dynamics firsthand and evaluate how different approaches influence interactions and results.
