The City of Columbia's Office of Business Opportunities will be hosting the Negotiating for Growth: Contracts, Sales, and Strategy for Small Business Owners on Tuesday, July 14th beginning at 10:00AM at the Virginia Bedford Community Center (formerly known as Earlewood Park).
Our featured speaker will be Mr. Richard Waring, Executive Director of Freewoods Farm. This workshop will equip local small business owners with practical skills in sales negotiation, contract negotiation, and contract formation. Participants will:
- Build small business capacity to compete for municipal contracts.
- Align local business practices with equity, inclusion, and sustainability priorities.
- Provide tools for managing subcontracting relationships fairly and compliantly.
- Position the City of Columbia as a partner in community resilience and economic empowerment.
In addition to the speaker, we will have a representative from SC APEX Accelerator to open the workshop with informative information on what they do and how you can use their services.
