Here's the scoop:
Location: Neenah-Menasha Elks Club, 328 Nicolet Blvd, Menasha, Wisconsin (right behind Luigi's Pizza)
Time: 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
All instruments are welcome, especially typical bluegrass instruments like guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin and fiddle.
All player levels are also welcome...whether you are just getting started or you have played for years. We'll follow the standard jam etiquette and procedures. (See the Fox Valley Bluegrass Jammers Files)
Feel free to bring a song or two you might want to lead. If you don't want to lead one...no problem! We'll welcome anyone to try a solo (break) if they want...simple or complex....it's always fun. If a song ends up in a train wreck (falls apart) it's good for a laugh and we'll try it again. It's all for fun. (You can also bring a non-bluegrass song if you like, we'll figure it out!)
The Elks Lodge has a nice, fairly large room that will accommodate 30-ish people in a circle with room for instrument cases in other parts of the lodge. We have bathrooms and a fridge if you bring a cold drink. Sorry, no alcohol allowed at the jam, but there is potential of having the bar open in the future. Parking is adjacent the lodge and church; please don't park in Luigi's parking lot.
This is my first time hosting a Jam, please share thoughts and ideas.
