Needle Felting Christmas Cards Workshop

Get creative this Christmas and discover the relaxing art of needle felting with Jean. In this fun and friendly half-day workshop, you’ll learn how to create your own beautiful needle-felted Christmas card – perfect to send to someone special or keep as a unique festive decoration.
No previous experience is needed. Jean will guide you through the basics of needle felting and show you how to build up colourful, textured designs using soft wool fibres. You’ll have the freedom to create your own festive design or take inspiration from Jean’s examples.
Make it personal! You’re very welcome to bring your own images or ideas to work from, along with cards with apertures if you have them. You can also bring beads, buttons, sequins or other small embellishments to add those finishing touches and make your card truly unique.
Meet your tutor – Jean
Jean has explored many different crafts over the years, but it was needle felting that she found particularly satisfying and versatile. She was first introduced to the technique at a free-motion embroidery class at Tudor Rose Patchwork, where she created a needle-felted image and then added free-motion embroidery – a technique she still enjoys today.
Over the last few years, Jean has continued to develop her skills, learning from a variety of artists and experimenting with everything from 2D pictures and 3D mushrooms and fungi to animal portraits and 3D animal artwork.
Jean now enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for needle felting through workshops with her local community. As she says, everyone who tries it loves it! It’s a wonderfully relaxing craft, and you can create something beautiful in a surprisingly short time.
Come along, have a go and create a little festive needle-felted artwork of your own!
There is a coffee shop on site called O for Coffee. Attendees at our classes are visited by coffee shop staff regularly throughout the day to take any orders. Anything consumed during your day is sold at a 10% discount. As well as a large choice of hot and cold drinks, the menu comprises savoury choices including sandwiches, paninis, jacket potatoes and soups. For those with a sweet tooth, there is a selection of cakes and scones made in-house with gluten-free and vegan options.
The venue has parking. Upon arrival, park in the car park at the front of the shop. Unload your vehicle into your classroom. Staff will then advise you where to park your car for the day at the rear of the complex.
There is disabled parking and ramps allowing access to all areas. There is a disabled toilet.
Staff will help anyone in need of assistance. Shop on site selling an enormous range of goods relating to crafting: dressmaking, patchwork & quilting, knitting & crochet, sewing machines and furniture.
