Hike with Rangers under the light of the (nearly) full moon, then view the moon through the telescope at the Allegheny Observatory!
About this Event

Hike with Park Rangers for one hour using the light of the (nearly) full moon to guide our way. We will be stopping periodically to discuss the night sky and nocturnal animals. We will loop back to the Observatory where participants can see the historical building and use the telescopes to view the moon! This event is every month! Sometimes its a couple days before the full moon, so that it's high enough in the sky for telescope viewing.

This is a completely weather dependent event!!! And will be canceled even if just very cloudy. Registration is required, so please use a good email so we can let you know about cancellations.

Please wear closed toed shoes and stay hydrated! We will try to avoid using flashlights, but will have some low-impact red lights if necessary. This hike in the dark will be on a moderate trail with elevation changes, so please be prepared!
