New Delhi Fringe Festival - "Main Amrita- Kuchh Kahi, Kuchh Ankahi The New Delhi Fringe Festival (NDFF) marks a significant milestone in India`s performing arts journey as it joins the fraternity of 300 Fringe Festivals worldwide. NDFF hosted by Atelier Theatre, embodies a new movement in New Delhi`s performing arts ecosystem - a platform for artists across diverse disciplines to showcase their work with absolute artistic freedom. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Main Amrita- Kuchh Kahi , Kuchh Ankahi" A 50 minutes dance performance by Dimple Kaur. Main Amrita is a first of its kind dance theatre in Punjabi integrating the beauty of Punjabi poetry by Amrita Pritam with the nuanced movements and music from Natya Shastra. The journey of love, violence and resilience throughout our lives presented in embodying the spirit of Amrita Pritam. Though feminism came much later in the last century the emotions have always been there in pervasive and prevalent form. In the choreography I start with the dreams and longing of love, which is beyond the realms of time and society. The young girls dreams of love and the practical reality of marriage , the psychological numbness and quietness which follows and yet the spirit of love which wants to continue-longing and languishing but alive. The cycle of love and pain continues as the longing intensifies only to find its realization in hope and resilience of eternal love.
