Here's a call out to all big band musicians, Wind orchestra players and their directors. The N.C.B.F (National Concert Band Festival)is an astonishing organisation. It';s festival is a true celebration of quality ensemble making. It has the highest values and demonstrates real musical integrity.
Although the NCBF issues a range of awards from Bronze through Silver, Gold and Platinum it's a non competitive festival and truly comprehensive in its range of classes, from junior school musicians through to youth ensembles, adult community groups and open class ensembles.
The festival celebrates everything that is good in music making. It publishes its marking criteria along with continuously updated repertoire lists, both of which gives helpful guidance and inspiration to musicians and their music directors.
If you've never been involved please consider it. It really is a joy to be part of and always inspirational. This years finals will be held on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th April 2025 at RNCM (The Royal Northern College of Music Manchester)
