About this Event
Join us on June 15 for the N.C. Tree Farm Program's 2024 Annual Meeting at the Wake County Wildlife Club in Durham.
The Wake County Wildlife Club, a 191-acre certified Tree Farm, is a 501(c)4 organization that promotes wildlife and natural resource conservatinoand education. It raises funds to:
- Send kids to Fur, Fish and Game Camps that help develop a lifelong appreciation for the wonders of wildlife and natural resources.
- Support Hunters for the Hungry, which provides venison for 12,500 meals each year.
- Maintain a facility where they have educated more than 9,000 students through hunter education programs, Becoming an Outdoors Woman events and specialty courses in tree stand safety, trapping and archery.
The N.C. Tree Farm Program's 2024 Annual Meeting will include a field tour focused on hunter safety, prescribed burning, timber management and enhancing wildlife habitat. The awards ceremony will recognize Tree Farm anniversaries, the Inspector of the Year and the Outstanding Tree Farmer of the Year.

Hunter Safety, Hunt Clubs and Landowner Liability: Learn about tree stand safety, the pros and cons of hunt club leases and what your liability is as a landowner when you have guests on your property. - Using Commercial Timber Management Practices to Advance Your Conservation Goals: Learn how you can use timber-harvest and cost-share income to pay for conservation work on your Tree Farm.
- Managing Mix Stands, Hardwoods and Visual Buffers: Mixed stands offer great opportunities to enhance wildlife habitat and meet aesthetic goals. Learn about strategic techniques that can help you meet your goals in these stands regardles of the acreage.
