Learning the Science & History Behind These Beautiful Creations
One of the best parts about visiting the gulf coast is the amazing shelling opportunities our beautiful beaches provide. Have you ever wanted to know more about seashells, like what animals create them and why are some seashells more valuable than others. In this class students young or older will learn about the amazing creatures that make the sea shells we find laying in the sand on the beach. They will also learn about mollusks and how they use their shells for protection throughout their lives. Students will see real shells and will have the opportunity to look at them up close. The most important part of this class will be teaching these new young shell collectors how to find the best shells while being seashell conservationists. Seashell School enrolled students will also get to create their very own seashell craft!
Seashell School includes:
- Intro to Seashell Education Program
- Seashell Craft Time
- Seashell School take home goodie bag
- Certificate of Completion
- Early entrance to the NBSTCC
All ages are welcome but encouraged for 7 years and up, including adults. Participants 12 years of age or younger, must be accompanied by an adult with a Guest Ticket. Follow to ticket link to Register for Seashell School below.

*NBSTCC has a "No Refund Policy" to ensure the smooth operation of the facility and to provide a memorable experience for all guests. Thank you in advance and we look forward to your visit! NBSTCC opens to the public at 10:00am, during the last 30 minutes, when Seashell School participants are on the self-guided exploration, enjoying a Scavenger Hunt, or shopping in the Gift Shop, there may be public guests arriving to visit the NBSTCC.
