About this Event
In celebration of Women's History Month, the National Association of Women Business Owners San Francisco Bay Area Chapter invites you to an inspiring evening of connection, storytelling, and community.
Join us on Thursday, March 26th from 5:00–7:00 PM for a relaxed happy hour gathering at the New York Life Insurance Company office in San Francisco. The evening will begin with networking, drinks, and light bites, followed by a special presentation from artist and author Carol Jacobsen.
Carol will share the stories of three remarkable women featured in the soon-to-be released book from the Canvas and Courage series. Through art and narrative, she will highlight the resilience, innovation, and leadership of women business owners in earlier eras—and reflect on the lasting impact their journeys have on women entrepreneurs today.
Enjoy an engaging presentation, thoughtful conversation, and the opportunity to connect with fellow women business owners and professionals in a welcoming lounge-style setting.
Come raise a glass, celebrate women’s history, and leave inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit that continues to shape our future.
If you have any questions about this event or to join the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) email us: [email protected]!

Carol Jacobsen has been painting since childhood. She has studied art at the University of Minnesota, where she earned a B.A., as well as at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, the College of Marin, and San Francisco State.
Color is her main passion. As she writes of her art: “Whether I’m doing abstract or more realistic paintings, I always use color to express the feelings I want to convey. As I work on an idea, I start by layering the various colors, then get into a meditative state which gives expression to the images and stories of the painting.”
Her art has been awarded the Best of Show for the International Society of Acrylic Painters in 2005 and has been featured in Artweek. Many of her artworks are held in corporate spaces and in private collections both in the United States and internationally.
Her current series is called “Women of Color and Accomplishment”. She has painted over 100 portraits in the series since 2021.
