Navigation Course. 17 November 2024This course is designed for anyone looking to learn essential navigation techniques or brush up on their skills. Whether you are a beginner looking to explore the outdoors safely or an experienced outdoors person, this course is great for all levels.
Dates and Timings:
Sunday 17th November: 8am - 5pm
Prerequisites:
NZAC Member (non members are welcome to apply but must join the NZAC in order to be accepted onto the course - there are no exceptions)
Under 18 must have parental/guardian permission and must be at least 16 to attend.
What will be taught:
- Map to ground
- Compass as a tool & methods
- Micro and Macro nav
- Reading topographical map
- Pacing
- Terrain selection & identification
- Route finding
- Basic use of GPS devices
Cost:
$80 + Koha for drivers will cover one days of instruction at a 1:8 ratio by qualified, experienced Instructors,.
Refund
A full refund will only be given for genuine reason if withdrawing from the course or if we have enough time to find a replacement for your spot.
