About this Event

Parents of students struggling with dyslexia or an as yet unidentified learning disability can find the IEP process daunting and frustrating. Expert Kim Bruessel will share the responsibilities of the Wisconsin school to make sure the child is properly diagnosed and, if indicated, provided programming to meet the child's needs. She will also provide insight to parents about their role within the process and ways they can proactively work toward a positive IEP result. Bruessel has a Master's degree in Exceptional Education and is licensed as Director of Special Education; Principal; and Lifetime Educator. Her leadership positions in special education have given her incredible insights that can assist parents. She has presented at conferences on the topic of IEPs throughout Wisconsin and nationally.

To allow for your scheduling needs, two repeating sessions are offered. This is the 3:30-4:30 presentation. It will be held in the large meeting room in the lower level of the library. There is plenty of parking available in the back of the library, with the accessible main entrance straight off the parking lot. Take the elevator or stairs to the lower level and walk to the left down the hall.
