Everyone wants students with dyslexia to succeed in reading, writing, and math. Come learn and discuss how to navigate the IEP process.
About this Event

The IEP process can be daunting and difficult to navigate. Responsibilities and opportunities lie with schools and with parents. Parents of students struggling with dyslexia or language-based learning disability can find the IEP process intimidating. Expert Kimarie Bruessel will share the responsibilities of Wisconsin public schools, from screening and diagnosis to meeting the child's needs. She will also provide insight to parents about their role within the process and ways they can proactively work toward a positive IEP result. Educators can be frustrated, too, and are welcome to participate in the discussion.

Bruessel has a Master's degree in Exceptional Education and is licensed as Director of Special Education; Principal; and Lifetime Educator. Her leadership positions in special education have given her incredible insights that can assist parents. She has presented at conferences on the topic of IEPs throughout Wisconsin. Time will be allowed for questions. Join us for this free and engaging presentation and discussion.

The presentation will be held in the large meeting room in the lower level of the Oshkosh Public Library. Plenty of parking is available on the entry side of the library. Take the elevator or stairs to the lower level and walk to the left down the hall.
