About this Event

Navigating Nonfiction Video: Exploring Careers in Documentary, Journalism & Impact Storytelling
Support and celebrate Nashville’s nonfiction video talent and creativity!
Thursday, June 25 - 5:00pm - 8:00pm
Navigating Nonfiction Video is a collaborative event hosted by Video Consortium, the Nashville Film Institute, and SONY. We’re inviting documentarians, journalists, video creators, students, academics, local newsrooms — any and all nonfiction video folks — to discuss careers in nonfiction video, the real-world impact this work can have, and tangible skills for when you’re out in the field.
The event is open to all! Whether you’re just starting out or are a seasoned professional, we'll come together for:

  • hellos & quick intros
  • an expert-led panel conversation
  • a hands-on camera workshop
  • local [delicious] food, music, and continued connection

The event starts at 5pm and wraps up at 8pm (and don’t worry, we’ll suggest a local hangout spot nearby for those who want to keep the conversations going).
If your economic circumstances prevent you from being able to purchase a ticket, please email [email protected] for options.
