About this Event

Navigating Neurodiversity Group Taster Session. We will be running a 2-hour taster session for Neurodivergent students starting (or continuing in September), who may be interested in attending the weekly Navigating Neurodiversity Group which will commence in October 2026. There will be lots of opportunity to ask questions and to find out more about an online version of support for ND students.

Navigating Neurodiversity Group

The Navigating Neurodiversity programme is an 8-session group programme aimed at supporting Autistic, ADHD OR AuDHD students.

Navigating Neurodiversity aims to create a safe, relaxed and neuroaffirmative environment. We hope that the group will be an informal, environment where students can meet peers, share ideas and establish a sense of belonging with other students that just get it! We will have craft activities and sensory fidgets available for students to use during the session to help with processing and anxiety.

What to expect

  • Small facilitated group for ADHD, AuDHD and Autistic students.
  • Discussions, sharing of ideas and socialisation. The group aims to help neurodivergent students build a community and sense of belonging whilst learning skills to help them navigate student life as a neurodivergent student.
  • Craft activities and fidget toys for students to use and participate in during sessions.
  • Tea, Coffee and Biscuits provided.
  • No pressure to speak or participate in anything. You can come and just listen or be as involved as you are comfortable with.

Why attend?

This event aims to give students an idea of what to expect from attending Navigating Neurodiversity to allow them to decide if they would like to register for the full 8-week group before committing. We hope it will help you to build confidence, meet the other students and the group facilitators and familiarise yourself with the location and format of the group.

Who is this for?

  • Students with ADHD, AuDHD and/or Autism who are starting or continuing their studies in September.

Event format

  • Small group, facilitated by Student Wellbeing and Disability Advice staff who will be also facilitating the full group later in the term.
  • Friendly, informal introduction to the Navigating Neurodiversity Group with craft activities.
  • Opportunity to get a feel for the group and ask questions.
