Join the Alaska Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers for an evening of science, cairbou, and a special BHA Public Lands Cider at Double Shovel Cider Co. as Heather Johnson, wildlife biologist with U.S. Geological Survey, talks about the status of migratory caribou in the Alaskan Arctic, and how the USGS and their partners are conducting research to understand caribou responses to changing habitat conditions. In particular, Heather will talk about research using video camera collars on caribou (say that 10x fast!), and the insights that are being gained from ‘seeing life’ from a caribou’s perspective.
Come early, grab a locally crafted pint special for Public Lands Month-- Blueberry Blues*, and enjoy an informal, informative eveningabout one of Alaska’s most migratory and popular game animals.
