Focus: What is nature study? Local biomes and tree identification
Core Skills: Observation, journaling, watercolor basics
Activities
Choose a “class tree” and begin the Four Seasons Tree Art Project (Summer scene).
Make nature journals and leaf-print covers.
Compare native vs. invasive plants.
Soil dig and texture test.
Field Trip: Lost River Cave – cave ecosystem & geology walk (10 min from downtown).
