Nature of Creativity: A Conversation

Have you wanted to learn more about the inspiration for the Artwork in the Lobby Gallery? Join in the conversation on the “Nature of Creativity” on Thursday, February 20th at 5:30pm. RSVP is encouraged for complimentary entrance. Enjoy wine and charcuterie during the presentation and enjoy the opportunity to ask your burning questions about the art exhibition “Discovery in Reflection”. It will be on view at the Art Ovation Hotel through May 4th, 2025. The presentation and conversation will be focused on the nature of creativity in the fields of art and science.

Guest speakers Valerie Eickmeier, Artist, and Tracy Calla of Selby Gardens, have extensive careers in art and botany respectively. They are experienced educators who share a passion for nature, ecology, and environmental issues. The moderator is Robyn Holl, Cultural Curator at Art Ovation Hotel. The conversation will address the question; Is there a correlation between the way some artists and scientist approach their work. Valerie Eickmeier draws upon personal experiences and interests to develop concepts for her artwork. She develops a methodology for research, and production of paintings that culminates in exhibitions and public engagement. Scientific inquiry develops in a similar way starting with a hypothesis that guides exploration, study, experimentation, analysis and dissemination of information.
