About this Event
Pause, listen, and discover the sounds of nature in a whole new way.
Join us for our next Nature Journaling event as we explore the soundscapes all around us! From birdsong and rustling leaves to buzzing insects and the wind through the trees, we’ll use nature journaling to slow down, listen closely, and capture the sounds of the preserve on paper.
Discover how journaling can help you better observe and connect with nature through drawing, writing, and creative listening. No art experience needed—just bring your curiosity!
Workshop meets at the Crossing Kiosk (near the main parking lot) at 1:45 pm.
Recommended for ages 8 and up. No reservation required. Call Wind Wolves Preserve at (661) 858-1115 with questions.
Materials will be provided (while supplies last). If you would like to bring your own supplies, we recommend:
- Journal with blank pages
- Pencil
- Colors (colored pencils/crayons/watercolors)
About Us
Wind Wolves Preserve is a 93,000-acre nature preserve located approximately 30 miles south of Bakersfield, and is owned and operated by The Wildlands Conservancy (TWC). The preserve is open to the public daily and visitors can enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, camping, or attend a staff led program, all free of charge.
TWC is a private, non-profit organization that operates more than 25 preserves along the west coast. Our mission is "To preserve the beauty and biodiversity of the earth and to provide programs so that children may know the wonder and joy of nature."
