Nature Journaling at Lyon Arboretum - Observe, Sketch, Reflect

Spend a peaceful morning at the beautiful Lyon Arboretum exploring the art of nature journaling. No drawing experience is needed, just bring your curiosity and love of nature.This guided session will help you slow down, observe the natural world more closely, and capture what you notice through simple sketches, words, and reflection. All essential materials are provided.

We’ll be immersed in the beautiful grounds of Lyon Arboretum, embracing the sights, sounds, and subtle changes of the landscape, rain or shine.

Come ready to notice, wonder, and connect with nature in a meaningful way.

Instructor: Reiko Ueki

Reiko is one of the two Educational Specialists with the Lyon Education Department. She has a Master's of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor's of Fine Arts. She loves nature both on land and sea!

Class date: February 7th

Time: 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Location: Lyon Arboretum Education Department -Visitors Center Upstairs Classroom

Cost: $50.00 (materials included: journal, pencil, metal ruler, sharpener, eraser)

All proceeds from the class will go to the Lyon Arboretum Education Department School Tours program.

What to bring/wear

Participants will be provided with materials and supplies.

Wear cool, comfortable clothing, and bring mosquito repellent. Bring water to drink. Rain jacket or poncho is high recommended.
