Nature journal at Tenney park! This park has a circular pond, bridges, and many types of deciduous trees around both areas which will hopefully give us some fall colors. There is a beaver lodge to check out though I haven't spotted any beavers there myself. (And across the street is Tenney Park Beach which has lakeshore views with ducks and water plants, and more deciduous trees.)
I'll give some nature journaling tips about documenting leaves in your journal, along with overhead maps which is very fun at Tenney Park.

DETAILS:
▪ RAIN OR SHINE: The picnic tables at John Wall Pavilion have a small roof overhead so if it's raining the event is still on
▪ MEETING SPOT: meet at the outdoor picnic tables at the John Wall Pavilion (the side with the bathrooms)
▪ PARKING: the parking lot is between the John Wall Pavilion and tennis courts
▪ BATHROOMS: yes
▪ ACCESSIBILITY: Tenney Park has paved trails and bridges throughout
▪ WHO SHOULD COME: everyone! Beginners are more than welcome as are kids
▪ WHAT TO BRING: drawing supplies like a pencil and paper, or anything fancier. You may want to bring a sketching stool/outdoor chair as there may not be benches in convenient areas.

WHAT IS NATURE JOURNALING?
Nature journaling is more than drawing or painting pictures--we also write questions and notes in our sketchbooks to wonder more deeply about nature. We’ll talk briefly about ideas of what to write, such as using the writing prompts "I notice... I wonder... It reminds me of..."
