Come nature journal in the Emerson East neighborhood on the same day as their Art Walk. I am participating in this Art Walk, so my nature journals will be on display in my driveway with information about our club. Unlike some events, we won't be walking around a nature preserve... instead we'll be exploring suburbia--nature journaling can happen anywhere. There are lovely cedar trees in my yard, giant sunflowers around the corner at a schoolyard park, frequent squirrel visitors, and other suburban nature surrounding the sidewalks. I will also have out specimens (local seeds, local shells, etc) on tables in my driveway if those catch people's interest. DETAILS:
- Meet in my driveway. The driveway should be obvious as we’ll have signs out, tables set up, and we'll be a "stop" on the art walk map (white house, small brown porch). The map stop will be under my name, Amy Schleser.
- Street parking is free around the neighborhood and is usually plentiful, though it’s possible that parking will be more full than normal due to the art fest.
- Bathroom available (it's up staircases, so unfortunately it's not very handicap accessible)

WHAT IS NATURE JOURNALING?
Nature journaling is more than drawing or painting pictures--we also write questions and notes in our sketchbooks to wonder more deeply about nature. We’ll talk briefly about ideas of what to write, such as the writing prompts "I notice... I wonder... It reminds me of..." You'll also get some nature journaling tips about ways you could document things that you may see at the event location.
