Come to the Garden and explore our educational booths, join in on our activities for the whole family and celebrate everything NATURE. You’re invited to bring a pack-it-in, pack-it-out lunch to enjoy on one of our grassy meadows or purchase some drinks and snacks that we will have available. We'll remain open after the scheduled activities until 4pm for garden strolls and picnics.There will be two guided children focused tours. These tours are free with your nature fair admission tickets. No advance reservation required and will meet at the Far Meadow at the start time.
Tour #1 @10am - "Bumblebee Hike": Explore the garden with your little bumble bee! We'll look for wildlife, listen to the wind and creek, smell flowers, and touch trees and leaves. The children are encouraged to stop and wonder, ask questions and share their discoveries.
Tour #2 @ 12pm- "Walk About Trees": This walk is for anyone interested in learning about different trees and getting a feel for the different types of trees there are. Walkers will learn about how trees age and what they look like as they get older. We will also talk about how the trees grow in adverse conditions, such as climate change and what protections they have. There will be some science, sensory and lots of fun spotting anything cool! This walk will remain in the upper area for most of it and will not include stairs, just some incline. Kids can walk alone, but a grown-up/guardian is more than welcome to attend as well. Before the walk we will go over some rules and then have a nice walk around the gardens.
Music #1 @ 10:30AM - "Jessa Campbell & the Saplings"
Jessa Campbell is an Oregon-based performer who bridges the worlds of music and ecology by enchanting young audiences with the wonders of nature through her songs. As a mama herself, she values throwing the better party by encouraging kiddos to step into their wilder selves, glimpsing the magic in the world around them.
Music #2 @ 12:00PM - "Marion Street Ramblers"
Join us and boogie to the bluegrass sounds of the Marion Street Ramblers. This family friendly band has been at our past Nature Fairs and we are so excited to have them back!
