Nature Explorers Extravaganza is a free, family-friendly celebration of Southeast Texas wetlands and wildlife. The event will take place on Saturday, September 20 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Tyrrell Park Nature & Visitor Center.Designed to spark curiosity and creativity, the Nature Explorers Program will feature interactive stations where kids can:
-Craft their own alligator notebook holder
-Create animal art using leaves
-Make a frog-themed craft
-Conduct a wetland experiment to learn about this ecosystem
In addition to nature-based activities, families can enjoy face painting, yard games, and contribute to a community mural painting featuring two panels of a vibrant mural cube.
A free yoga class will be offered on the nature center courtyard from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, providing a peaceful way to start the day surrounded by nature.
Food trucks will be on-site to offer tasty bites, and a variety of kid-friendly activities will be available throughout the event. Crafts are available while supplies last.
Come explore, create, and celebrate the wetlands with us at the Nature Explorers Extravaganza! The Tyrrell Park Nature & Visitor Center’s Nature Explorers sessions are nature-based topics and interactive activities are designed primarily for children in the five to ten-year-old age range; but everyone in the family will enjoy learning something about nature. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
