This session is for families whose children have additional needs, siblings are also very welcome. The age guide is 2 - 14 years, but please still attend if your child is outside of this age bracket but you feel they would enjoy the session.Please read all of the following information:
Meet at Margrove Heritage Centre and we will venture into the woods together for some Forest School fun.
Children can explore the woodland, and follow their own interests.
There will be the opportunity to do some activities, this may include natural crafts, scavenger hunts, pond dipping, bug hunts, and tool use.
We will enjoy a campfire snack (if it is raining a campfire will not be possible but a snack will still be provided).
We provide a safe non-judgemental space for families to enjoy the outdoors and nature together, with other families to whom they can relate and share experiences.
We go ahead in most weathers so please be prepared to get wet, come in waterproofs if rain is forecast.
We do have use of inside the centre so in the case of persistent rain some time may be spent indoors.
In the event of very high winds/stormy weather we may need to cancel for safety reasons. Cancellations will be posted on the FB page by 8.30am on the morning of the session, although we will give more notice if we can.
Accesability: The area of woodland we explore is accessed by a bark-chip path.
Location: The centre is located on Margrove Road between Boosbeck and Guisborough, find it on Google maps by typing 'Tees Valley Wildlife Trust' the location states Saltburn but this is the correct venue.
The centre has a sign outside saying 'Tees Valley Wildlife Trust'.
Parking: The venue has parking available.
Toilets: Available inside the centre.
