About this Event

🌿 Join us for our Monthly Pulau Ubin Cleanup – a journey that began with friends in 2016 and has since seen us remove over 15 tons of litter from this pristine paradise.

🌏 Our monthly cleanup events, lasting just 1.5 hours, are perfect for families, kids, and anyone looking to make a difference while enjoying quality time in nature.

🌱 Beyond the rewarding act of cleaning up, our gatherings offer a wonderful opportunity to socialize and connect with like-minded individuals. Cleanups are not just about tidying; they're about having a blast while preserving the environment.

🦜 Let's work together to ensure Pulau Ubin remains a safe haven for wildlife. Join us, lend a hand, and make new friends as we unite to protect this beautiful island. Your participation can change lives – for humans and the creatures we share this paradise with!

I mportant information
Meeting Point:
  • Public Jetty (located immediately after the "Welcome to Pulau Ubin" sign, near the toilets)
  • GPS Coordinates: 1.402174, 103.970695
  • G oogle Maps link: http://goo.gl/A8ejjJ

Transportation:

Typically, it takes approximately 30-40 minutes by taxi from the CBD, Woodlands, or Jurong, or anywhere from 1 to 2 hours when using public transportation. Please make certain that you head to the right ferry terminal, which is Changi Village Ferry Terminal (postcode 499172), and not Changi Ferry Terminal (postcode 499675).

What to Bring:
  • Please bring your own equipment and tools, including garbage bags, gardening gloves, sturdy shoes, water, mosquito repellent, and sunscreen.
  • If you have trash pickers or BBQ tongs, consider bringing them as well.
  • Please make sure to have a minimum of 20 SGD in cash per person on the event day to cover the cost of the boat ride (8 SGD for the round trip per person) and potential local taxi expenses (6 SGD for the round trip per person).

Make sure you read this carefully:
  • It is highly recommended to wear long-sleeved tops and pants/trousers, along with appropriate footwear, to prevent mosquito and ant bites. Avoid flip-flops or sandals.
  • Children are welcome but must be supervised by adults.
  • Punctuality is crucial; it can be challenging to locate the group once the activity begins.
  • The boat at Changi Village Ferry Terminal departs once 12 people are ready to go, so aim to arrive at the ferry terminal at least 1 hour before the event's start time to ensure timely arrival at the meeting point.
  • The one-way boat ride from Changi Point Ferry Terminal to Pulau Ubin Jetty costs 4 SGD per person.
  • Depending on the distance of the cleanup site from the meeting point, we may consider using local taxis. The one-way taxi ride between the cleanup site and the meeting point is 3 SGD per person. Therefore, please ensure that you have enough coins with you on the day of the event as only cash is accepted.
