Join Florida Master Naturalist Tony Mauriello for a series of FREE interpretive programs at the new Welcome & Discovery Center at Lovers Key State Park.
To be held in the Community Room at the Welcome and Discovery Center.
Butterflies inspire and amaze with their miraculous transformation from an earthbound caterpillar into a dazzling winged marvel. This metamorphosis will be explored, as well as the native food plants integral to the life cycle of these beautiful insects.
An introduction to butterflies most common in Southwest Florida, their relationship with other pollinators, and how they contribute to the local ecosystem will be discussed.

Learn about the fascinating species of butterflies and moths that visit Lovers Key State Park in this beautiful maritime hammock. Aso learn some of the native flowering plants that will attract them to your yard.
Programs will be held indoors in the Community Room or in the Outdoor Classroom at 12 noon.
