Nature Journaling is the sweet spot between art, science, observation, and curiosity!
During this introductory two hour hands-on workshop facilitated by Terri Mando, founder of Shadow Hills Nature Journal Club, attendees will record their nature observations using words, pictures and numbers.
Participants will explore the "5-basic component skills of drawing" developed by Betty Edwards, author of .
Learn how to get started and join the nature journaling community, basic supplies, where to observe, groups to participate with and other resources to learn more. The facilitator, Terri Mando, uses an educational framework developed and taught by John Muir Laws and Wild Wonder Foundation.
Logistics:
This paid workshop is a fundraiser benefitting Arlington Garden in Pasadena to help the garden recover from losing the storage shed in the May fire. It is limited to a maximum of 20 attendees, and geared for adults age 18+. All materials are provided and sponsored by Shadow Hills Nature Journal Club. Please bring a camping chair or stool if you would like.
About the Facilitator
Terri Mando - Naturalist, Educator, and Independent Artist - is a Wild Wonder Foundation Certified Nature Journaling Educator and a UC ANR Certified California Naturalist. Terri teaches and leads Shadow Hills Nature Journal Club workshops and meetups in the East San Fernando Valley, West San Gabriel Valley and LA areas.
