Venture back more than 120 years on this two-mile hike with naturalist Suzanne & musician Laurie D. There will be stops along the way to learn history & discover the flora, wildlife & geology that surround & inspire us along the trail. Laurie will provide accompaniment with fun, nature-themed songs. Sing along, or just enjoy the music & the beautiful open space we have in our backyard! Miles: about 2. Elevation gain: about 300 feet. (Mileage & elevation will depend on the group.) Meet in front of the Chautauqua Dining Hall, 900 Baseline Rd. in Boulder. Suzanne Michot is a nature hike guide with experience leading adults on hikes focusing on the natural & cultural history, flora & wildlife of the area. She was an environmental educator for Eco-Cycle, has led history & nature walks for Historic Boulder & Boulder Walking Tours, and is a volunteer naturalist for Boulder County Parks & Open Space. For 20 years, Suzanne worked for City of Boulder Open Space Mountain Parks in the Education/Outreach division & since then has become a Certified Interpretive Guide through the National Association for Interpretation.
Billboard Magazine award recipient, Laurie Dameron, has been playing the guitar for over 55 years. She has performed for hundreds of venues in Colorado & beyond for over the past 30 years. A broad repertoire allows her to perform many different venues. She has produced three albums & won numerous song contests. Laurie passed the first round of America's Got Talent in 2013. She has been an environmental activist for most of her life & served as the chair of Environmental & Sustainable Development for Business & Professional Women (BPW and NFBPW) from 2015 - 2023.
