To create a just and regenerative green transition, we need to develop our democratic institutions and ensure that the natural world and more-than-human nature receives legal rights and recognition as a living entity. Join us for an evening in conversation about the rights of nature and the democratic evolution we need for coming generations to have a foundation to build their lives on.
Meet others who care for nature and democracy, hear about different approaches to how we can speak with and for nature, and listen to representatives of Arternes Ambassadører, the Embassy of the Baltic Sea and the Dogger Bank Coalition, sharing perspectives on ecological diplomacy and transnational collaboration for the rights of nature.
This event is an appetizer for the Conference on the Rights of Nature and the Future of Democracy in the Nordic Region on June 4-7th. By bringing together actors from across the Nordic region, the conference aims to inspire a new democratic culture in the Nordic countries where nature is no longer seen merely as a resource but as co-creator.
The event will be followed by a Meeting of the Seas Ceremony on Friday 22 May outside Blox, 9.30am. Join Waters and Water ambassadors as we gather with the Baltic and North Seas and connect with their flowing partnership in encouraging their rights and vitality. Open to all.
